My name is Nam Tran. I teach yoga. This is what I look like.

Given enough time and diligence on your part, I can have you doing the same thing.

What I teach can be called "power vinyasa yoga", with my own spin on it. Its primary characteristics are as follows:
  • Linking breath and movement - every inhale and exhale has an associated movement.
  • Building "strength" flexibility. All stretches are active and involve engagement of your muscles. Very rarely are there passive stretches; this is safer in the long run.
  • Developing an inner strength with emphasis on the core.
  • All "advance" poses, including arm balances and inversions have their foundations in the first three elements. Focus on those and the rest will come.
I'm currently teaching at the love yoga co-op in south Austin, near Maria's Taco Express. Every Tuesday from 5:15 PM to 6:15 PM. It's an all levels class. Each pose has several modifications given your current skill level.
